Membership includes an annual, comprehensive medical assessment, individualized health plans, management of both acute and chronic issues, a doctor on-call, and in-home medical visits. Patients have direct access to Dr. Vinther who develops meaningful, long-term relationships with her patients and their families.

The name nea—which means youthful in Greek—reflects Dr. Vinther’s philosophy of proactive, preventive care and healthy living. Her mission is to help patients feel their best at every stage of life.

Amy Vinther, MD

Dr. Amy Vinther is a physician with over 20 years of clinical experience. The founder and Medical Director of nea Medical, she brings the full breadth of her training to patients seeking a trusted, long-term medical partner. Dr. Vinther takes a holistic, relationship-centered approach to medicine, prioritizing time with her patients to truly understand their health needs and life goals. Known for her exceptional diagnostic skills and thoughtful, detail-oriented care, she combines attentive listening with clinical expertise to address acute issues, manage complex medical conditions, and design personalized wellness plans.

Dr. Vinther graduated from Stanford University and earned her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. She completed her residency at UCLA where she served as Chief Resident and was named Intern of the Year. There, she sharpened her ability to make critical decisions under pressure while treating a wide range of urgent medical and surgical conditions. Drawn to the dynamic challenges of emergency care, she completed a fellowship in Academic Emergency Medicine at Stanford Hospital. She is committed to building rapport and connection with each patient, combining expert medical care with compassion.

A California native, Dr. Vinther lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, an anesthesiologist, and their four children. Beyond medicine, Dr. Vinther enjoys reading, weight training, cooking and knitting. Mostly, she loves spending time with her husband and children
